    Its the summer of 2002, and im in Montreal - Suoni fest, blktygr games, past the park at the corner of St. Laurent and Herbert there is this amazing sound coming from this 3floor walk-up. i sit on the stoop and listen to what sounds like sixteen musicians in the midst of an intergalactic jam session. its pure, its future - it was Odysseus Brown.

    When we started Cleveland Tapes, our goal was to curate some of the most exciting, hidden gems around the world, so we were pleased when we were able to work with Guillermo Brown, and now - Odysseus Brown. Our house engineer E.React was behind the scenes, tracking Mr. Brown down, babysitting his band, wearing way too many hats, but doing the stellar job he always does. Then i get the cover art, and realize it was always Elijah - all these years. From Montreal to the Northcoast - the funk always rises.
